Your specific massage goals and preferences will be discussed before the session. I take an integrative approach to all of my sessions, making sure that your concerns and expectations are met. Clear communication is the foundation of my work so that I can provide effective results, no matter what type of service you book.

Swedish

The foundation of western massage, swedish massage focuses on long, rhythmic strokes to promote relaxation. Pressure can vary depending on areas of the body as well as preferences.

Deep Tissue/ Trigger Point/ Sports

For these modalities I utilize more pressure to access deeper layers of connective tissue to treat musculoskeletal issues. Compression, kneading, and stretching techniques can be used to rehydrate fascia and increase range of motion.

Craniosacral Therapy

This is a very gentle approach that focuses on releasing soft tissue restrictions associated with the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. Using deep fascial connections as a roadmap, I place my hands below and on top of the body around the pelvis, skull, facial bones, and other areas of the spinal cord. The power of this subtle modality comes from being able to deeply listen to what your body might be trying to express, and allowing it to unwind naturally.  It is especially indicated for people suffering from migraines, TBIs, TMJ, and fibromyalgia. These sessions are performed fully clothed.

Pregnancy Massage

Prenatal massage can include any techniques from other massage services, simply avoiding areas that are contraindicated for expecting mothers. Clients have the choice to use a special pregnancy cushion to lie face down, or side lying techniques can also be employed.

Sound Healing

I use a set of crystal singing bowls that are tuned to correspond to the 7 chakra system, these will be placed either on or around the body in order to absorb the vibrations, which will help open up and activate energy centers throughout the body.  I also incorporate thai massage and craniosacral techniques in order to relax the nervous system and recalibrate the chakra system. These sessions are done on a shiatsu mat, and you remain fully clothed.

Add- Ons (Can be integrated into any session)

Cupping- This is a modality which uses suction cups on the skin in order to encourage blood flow which will promote healing. I use cups with a manual suction tool.

Scraping- otherwise known as Gua Sha, this technique uses a smooth edged tool to "scrape" areas in order to improve circulation. It is helpful in areas with scar tissue and fascial adhesions.
